The After...{which is before more afters}

Finally!! The wallpaper is off, the holes poorly spackled, the walls sanded, then wiped down, and then painted. Our kitchen is painted!! And boy oh day, does it feel so good to have that horrendous job tackled and behind us. It took us 4 months to complete! Crazy that life doesn't work the way the Home and Garden TV shows work. I thought there would be little elves to do most the work while we slept or felt too uninspired to work on things... no such luck. The work waited until we were ready to spend more time on it. Kind of the elves to let us have all the satisfaction of doing the job ourselves. :/ Anyway, its done and we are so happy. We even replaced the light fixture and I put up my Nixon Park hiking pictures.
The only thing is that it doesn't feel complete.... one job leads to another. The trim now needs a fresh coat of white paint and the living room needs a new cooler color so that the transition from kitchen to living room is easy on the eye. The entrance hall needs to be painted the same color as the kitchen which means that the walls going up the stairs needs to be painted as well, which then turns into painting the hall upstairs. And the windows need curtains... and two more 12 x 12 hiking pictures to balance out the grid in the nook (you know I do), and a round table because how cute is that ... and for goodness sakes, I need a bookcase or two!!

So you see, although this is the After, it really is the After before more Afters...
But I love this home. Things take time in real life and that is okay with me. Keeps me dreaming and planning!
