Bring it, Jack Frost! {and then get. out.}

I know ya'll might want to smack me when I write this next sentence, but I'm going to write it nonetheless. I love a good March snowstorm. Better yet, I love a March blizzard. There used to be a time when I hated March because it was such a tease. It's strange, I know, but the older I get, the more I don't mind Winter. I like the cozy feeling of being tucked in for the season.

And having a last good snowstorm in March is a fantastic way to say goodbye to Jack Frost. It won't last you know. The snow melts so much faster in March, right? Even mother nature is ready for Spring in a Southern Pennsylvania March month.

So this is where we find ourselves, on the eve of another March snowstorm with the question hanging in the air - will we get a dusting or will we get 12 inches? I love how we don't need to be real detailed. It's like the plumber - he'll arrive between 10am to 4pm. So helpful. :/

All day today I've been asking the patients where I work, "So what do you think? Will we get the snow?" I love inciting weather drama with my patients. It seems to be a consensus among them that we will get more inches than dusting. I trust their old arthritic bones. We all agree of course, time will tell.

But Spring is right around the corner. Have your early flowers started popping up out of the ground like mine? The days are already starting to lengthen, without the help of daylight savings (which, by-the-way, is next week). March certainly came in like a Lion for much of the east coast, lets hope it goes out like a lamb. Good things are on the horizon for us - warm weather, longer days, gorgeous flowers and leaves on the trees, vacations. We will emerge from our long Winter naps stretching and yawning and ready to go. What are you looking forward to?

Here at Emily Stump Photography, good things are on the horizon as well.

I'm planning on trying something for the very first time. I love to spend time with my families that I shoot, getting to know them and shooting both candids and posed, going from one gorgeous location to another. But in talking with a couple of my clients, I have found that there might be an interest for a shorter simpler session that is offered only for a limited time. My normal sessions last on average about an hour or so, depending on my clients endurance. This year, I'm introducing a Spring Mini Session. A mini session will last about 20 minutes. So here's your "Save The Date" - mark your calendar for April 21 & 22. Details will be posted in the near future. This is the perfect opportunity to dip your toes into the ESP experience, lol, without much commitment to time and money. If you've been thinking about scheduling a session with me but have held off for one reason or another, lets chat about scheduling a time on one of these two dates!

I am also looking forward to doing a series of posts on different products that I will be offering from archival quality Legacy Albums to gorgeous prints on wood and everything in between. I have a house full of bare walls and am personally interested in how to dress them up with wall art of my family, landscape and street photography - I'm sure that I'm not alone in this. I am a true York County girl though - I want a good quality product that won't break the bank. If ya'll are in the same boat I'm in, keep your eye out for these posts. Oh, by the way, the wall paper is almost completely removed. We had to take a bit of a break but hope, maybe over the next few days, to finish it's removal. I can't wait to get the kitchen painted a soft light grey and add a couple of 16x24 prints mounted on Styrene of the brilliant green wooded images from my Nixon Park hike last year. So delicious!

Stay warm and cozy tomorrow my friends and dream about Spring!! It's knocking on our front doors.

~ Emily
